Floor Tile Adhesive

FTA

line-4

Tile adhesive is ready-mixed glue used to lay tiles in building structures. It is specially formulated from Portland cement, selected fine aggregates, with some additives to improve its properties for laying tiles.

From decades, we have installed tiles and natural stones using sand, cement and water. As times are evolving, and so does construction techniques, fortunately using adhesives made everything seems easy and fast.

Whether it is a wall tile or floor tile, the tile needs to be stick suitably to the base surface. Tile adhesive is anticipated to hold the tile in place for a long duration without de-bonding problems.

Use for fixing ceramic and mosaic tiles on floor surface in domestic / commercial / Industrial buildings

Grey color powder

  • Fast and efficient
  • Easy to use, only mix with water
  • Better bonding strength
  • Applicable on existing tiles, many special substrates like polished cement, dry wall system, etc.
  • Thinner layer
  • Due to its low shrinkage property, it gives excellent adhesion.
  • It is very flexible for accommodating the thermal and also physical movements.
  • It requires almost no amount of curing and needs no mechanical or hacking of the surface.
  • The floors where tile adhesive is applied can be usable only after 24 hours.
  • No backing surface and soaking of any tile are required in any way.

20 Kg bags

12 months from date of production if stored properly in original unopened sealed and undamaged packaging in dry and cool condition

Chemical Base : Cementitious mortar modified with polymers.

Bulk Density : ~1.35 kg/l (at +27°C) Layer

Thickness : 4 mm minimum

-3-3.5 kg powder required / sqm for 4 mm average thickness. Approx 55-60 sq ft is covered by a bag of 20kg depending on the substrate level

60 minutes at +27°C

The substrate must be structurally sound, laitance free, clean and free from dirt, oil, grease other contaminants and loose or friable particles.

+5°C min/ +45°C max

Cement plaster/render, concrete, block wall, fiber cement board, gypsum plaster, gypsum boards (gypsum pores to be sealed with a Tile Primer), tile adhesive for Tile-on-Tile (can be applied on existing tiles and natural stones).

For fixing a variety of tiles (glazed and unglazed ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, vitrified tiles etc.) on horizontal and vertical masonry or tiled surfaces in interiors and exteriors. For fixing a variety of natural stones (marble, granite, marbonite etc.) on horizontal masonry or tiled surfaces in interiors and exteriors. When fixing natural stones and heavy tiles on vertical surfaces the use of Multi-purpose Polymer is mandatory.

Step 1: Surface to be tiled must be clean, free from contamination and in SSD (Saturated Surface Dry) condition.

Step 2: Mix Tile Adhesive into water until a lump free mortar consistency is achieved.

Step 3: Approx. 7-8 ltr. of potable water is required for a 30 Kg bag of tile adhesive. Use slow speed stirrer to get uniform lump free consistency

Step 4: Apply tile adhesive on the wall or floor using trowel at a thickness of 3-6 mm and comb with notch trowel. Do not spread in more than 1 sq. m of area at a time

Step 5: Fix tiles firmly into position with a sliding motion and hammer gently with soft mallet to assume a better bond.

Step 6: Leave adequate & desirable joints between the tiles by using spacers

Step 7: Clean off excessive adhesive between the joints & on tiles with a damp cloth.

Step 8: For best results, use Asian Paints cement or epoxy based tile grouts to fill the joints. The tile joints can be filled after 24 hours of application of tiles.

Once the tiles are set Into the mortar, they can be adjusted for – 10 minutes (at +27°C).
